Product Description
Inconel 600 Plate 3mm X 1200 X 3000 DIN 2.4816
Product Overview

Inconel 600 (UNS N06600 / DIN 2.4816) is a nickel-chromium alloy designed for use from cryogenic to elevated temperatures up to 2000°F (1093°C). This high-performance material offers excellent oxidation resistance, good performance in carburizing and chloride-containing environments, and remarkable mechanical properties.

Chemical Composition

Ni 72.0%, Cr 15.5%, Fe 8.0%, Mn 1.0%, C 0.15%, Cu 0.5%, Si 0.5%, S 0.015%

Key Characteristics
  • Resistant to wide range of corrosive media
  • Virtually immune to chlorine ion stress corrosion cracking
  • Excellent resistance to organic acids (acetic, formic, stearic)
  • Minimal attack in dry gases like chlorine or hydrogen chloride up to 550°C
  • Good scaling resistance and high strength at elevated temperatures
  • Resists ammonia-bearing atmospheres, nitrogen, and carburizing gases
  • Non-magnetic with excellent mechanical properties
  • Good workability and readily weldable
Typical Applications
  • Thermocouple sheaths
  • Ethylene dichloride (EDC) cracking tubes
  • Reactor vessels and heat exchanger tubing in vinyl chloride production
  • Process equipment for chlorinated and fluorinated hydrocarbons
  • Nuclear reactor components (control rod guide tubes, steam generator baffle plates)
  • Furnace retort seals, fans, and fixtures
  • Roller hearths and radiant tubes in carbon nitriding processes
  • Chemical and food processing equipment
