Material Description
254SMO (UNS S31254 / F44 / 1.4547) is a super austenitic stainless steel with high molybdenum, chromium, and nitrogen content, providing excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and stress corrosion cracking. The addition of copper enhances corrosion resistance in acidic environments.

Metallurgical Properties
254SMO features a face-centered cubic lattice structure, typically annealed at 1150-1200°C to achieve austenitic structure. The high nitrogen content provides superior mechanical strength while maintaining excellent ductility, impact strength, and weldability.
Corrosion Performance
Excellent resistance in seawater, acidic solutions, and oxidizing halide environments. Performs well in diluted hydrochloric acid at normal temperatures and maintains corrosion resistance in fluorosilicic and hydrofluoric acids across various concentrations and temperatures.
