Grade 904L stainless steel is a non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content. This high alloy stainless steel contains added copper to improve resistance to strong reducing acids like sulphuric acid. The material offers excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion, and is non-magnetic with superior formability, toughness, and weldability.
Grade 904L provides exceptional resistance to warm seawater and chloride attack. The high nickel content contributes to its stress corrosion cracking resistance, while copper addition enhances resistance to sulphuric acid and other reducing agents in both aggressive and mild conditions.
The corrosion resistance of grade 904L falls between super austenitic grades (6% molybdenum) and standard 316L austenitic grades. For maximum stress corrosion cracking resistance in critical environments, this steel grade requires solution treatment following cold working.

All materials are manufactured and tested in strict compliance with ASTM/ASME, GB, JIS, and other international standards. We maintain extensive inventory of nickel base alloys, high temperature alloys, and imported steel plates in various specifications, along with supporting imported welding wires and rods to ensure timely delivery for desulfurization, denitration engineering projects, and petroleum/petrochemical equipment requirements.
Our manufacturing facilities include vacuum induction furnaces, semi-vacuum medium frequency induction furnaces, heat treatment furnaces, electroslag remelting furnaces, forging hammers, hot and cold rolling mills, and comprehensive testing equipment including spectrometers, universal testing machines, hardness testers, and ultrasonic nondestructive testing systems.
