Product Overview

Inconel 600 is a nickel-chromium alloy designed for exceptional performance across extreme temperature ranges, from cryogenic conditions up to 2000°F (1093°C). This high-performance material offers outstanding resistance to oxidation, carburizing environments, and chloride-containing media.

Key Characteristics
  • Excellent resistance to a wide range of corrosive media
  • Virtually immune to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking
  • Superior performance in both oxidizing and reducing conditions
  • Maintains resistance in dry chlorine and hydrogen chloride gases up to 550°C
  • Excellent scaling resistance and high strength at elevated temperatures
  • Resists ammonia-bearing atmospheres, nitrogen, and carburizing gases
  • Non-magnetic with excellent mechanical properties
  • Good workability and readily weldable
Industrial Applications
  • Thermocouple sheaths and ethylene dichloride cracking tubes
  • Chemical processing equipment for vinyl chloride production
  • Reactor vessels and heat exchanger tubing
  • Nuclear reactor components (control rods, steam dryers, separators)
  • Furnace components including retort seals, fans, and fixtures
  • Production equipment for chlorinated and fluorinated hydrocarbons
  • Caustic alkali production systems
  • Food processing and vegetable/fatty acid vessels
