12mm Thick 6m X 2m ASTM S31603 Stainless Steel SS316L Plates
SS 316L PLATE ASTM A240 316L Stainless Steel Plate NO.1 Finished 2000mm Width. In ASTM A240, type 316 and 316L is a chromium nickel austenitic steel. The addition of molybdenum enhances corrosion resistance, making 316/316L more corrosion resistant than 304/304L stainless steel. While 316L has lower carbon content, its strength is only slightly higher than 316 steel, making the two grades nearly interchangeable in many applications. Grade 316L is particularly suitable for welding applications due to its reduced carbon content.
316/316L steel offers outstanding corrosion resistance in both atmospheric and oxidizing environments, including marine atmospheres, even in welded conditions. Typically non-magnetic in annealed condition, cold drawing or cold rolling processes may introduce slight magnetism, which can be addressed through further processing.
Applications of ASTM A240 316/316L
316/316L plate is used to manufacture products for applications exposed to salt water, acids such as sulfuric acid and chloride, petrochemicals, chemicals, and high-heat environments such as engines and motors. Common products include:
