Product Description
Alloy 1.4162 / Duplex UNS S32101 Stainless Steel Plate
Material Description
LDX 2101 is a low nickel-alloyed duplex stainless steel with balanced chemistry of chromium, molybdenum, and nitrogen content to achieve excellent resistance to localized and uniform corrosion. The duplex microstructure contributes to high strength and superior resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Duplex steels offer good weldability. Due to risk of embrittlement, LDX 2101 should not be used at temperatures above 250°C. This alloy provides very stable pricing with high strength characteristics.
Applications
The main applications are for components requiring corrosion resistance superior to 304L stainless steel.
LDX 2101 Key Characteristics
  • Ideal for tank production where corrosion resistance requirements are sufficient
  • Excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking
  • Superior resistance to general corrosion
  • High mechanical strength properties
  • Exceptional resistance to erosion corrosion and corrosion fatigue
Heat Treatment
Solution annealing at 1020-1100°C followed by water quenching.
Weldability
Very good
