DIN 1.2787, AISI 431 ESR Stainless Steel Round Bars specifically engineered for glass mold manufacturing. Available in grades AISI 431, DIN 1.4057, and 1.2787, delivered in prehardened or soft annealed states with rough peeled surface finish.
NEW GENERATION FOR GLASS MOLDS MANUFACTURING
431 mod. represents a special improved grade derived from 1.4057. The ESR 431 premium variant delivers extended mold life through its extra fine microstructure.

Material Overview
431 is a high chromium-low nickel Martensitic stainless steel with exceptional hardenability, offering high strength and good corrosion resistance. Typically supplied hardened and tempered in the tensile range 850-1000 MPa (condition T) with Brinell hardness range 248-302.

  • Good resistance to mild marine and industrial atmospheres
  • Resistant to organic materials, nitric acid, and petroleum products
  • High tensile and yield strength with excellent toughness
  • Through hardening capability up to Rc44 depending on carbon content and section size

Heat Treatment Guidelines

Important Note: Tempering within the range 370°C - 565°C should be avoided due to significant drop in impact properties.
