About Type 301 Stainless Steel
Type 301 is an austenitic stainless steel that achieves high strength and ductility through cold working. Similar to type 201, it is non-magnetic in the annealed state but becomes increasingly magnetic with cold working.
The higher carbon and lower nickel content of 301 stainless steel supports excellent drawing and forming characteristics, though this composition slightly reduces corrosion resistance compared to other austenitic grades.
As a modification of type 304, 301 features lowered chromium and nickel contents, which increases the cold work-hardening range. This allows for higher tensile strengths through rolling with less ductility loss than type 304.
Common Applications
  • Subway cars and rail components
  • Aircraft structural parts
  • Trailer bodies and automotive trim
  • Automobile wheel covers
  • Drainage products and conveyor systems
  • Storm door frames and architectural elements
Quality Assurance
  • High-quality products with competitive pricing
  • Extensive industry experience and professional team
  • Global export capabilities
  • Third-party testing available before shipment
  • Free samples provided upon request
  • Ample inventory with short delivery times
