Duplex 2205 stainless steel combines both ferritic and austenitic properties, making it ideal for applications requiring excellent corrosion resistance and high strength. The S31803 grade has been refined into UNS S32205, offering superior corrosion resistance.

This grade undergoes precipitation of brittle micro-constituents above 300°C and ductile-to-brittle transition below -50°C, making it unsuitable for use at these extreme temperatures.

Duplex 2205 (UNS S32205) is nitrogen-enhanced stainless steel chosen for its exceptional corrosion resistance and high strength, outperforming most austenitic stainless steels. Key benefits include:
