Duplex 2205 stainless steel (combining ferritic and austenitic properties) is extensively used in applications requiring excellent corrosion resistance and high strength. The S31803 grade has been modified to create UNS S32205, offering superior corrosion resistance.

Note: This grade undergoes brittle precipitation above 300°C and ductile-to-brittle transition below -50°C, making it unsuitable for use at these extreme temperatures.
