Material Features

Grade 904L stainless steel is a non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content. This high-alloy stainless steel contains copper to enhance resistance to strong reducing acids like sulfuric acid. The material demonstrates excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion. Grade 904L is non-magnetic and offers superior formability, toughness, and weldability characteristics.

Fabrication Characteristics

Grade 904L stainless steels are high-purity materials with low sulfur content. They can be machined using standard methods and readily bent to small radii under cold conditions. While subsequent annealing is typically unnecessary, it is recommended when fabrication occurs under severe stress corrosion cracking conditions.
